Where Adventure
Meets Calm.

Portal Mindful Retreats grew out of my own love of the ocean, mindful movement, and meaningful travel. I created it to bring together scuba + yoga in a way that feels intentional, grounded, and genuinely restorative.

These aren't busy, high-pressure trips. They're designed for people who want a better balance of adventure, movement, and restoration — some retreats open to everyone, others created specifically as women-only experiences. Each retreat page will let you know which is which.

I handle the logistics so guests can settle in and enjoy the experience from the moment they commit.

I also choose each retreat location carefully. For me, the overall experience matters most — great diving, excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and a setting that supports both adventure and restoration. I promise, you will come back home exhilarated and restored, but not depleted.

All you need to bring is curiosity, an open mind, and a desire for calm adventure.

If this kind of travel speaks to you, I’d love to have you with us. Reach out to learn more about our upcoming adventures.

Laura Ramos

I'm a marketer, world traveler, singer, sailor, and scuba diver. I have spent more than two decades helping companies tell their stories, reach their audiences, and grow. Through my consulting work at Portal Creative Marketing, I bring clarity, strategy, and purpose-driven storytelling to teams and mission-focused organizations that deserve to be heard.

Outside the corporate world, I have explored underwater destinations around the globe, finding calm and connection through scuba diving, sailing, movement, and culture. Portal Mindful Retreats is the natural extension of that journey—a way to share the grounding, restorative experiences that have supported me through a demanding career and a busy creative life.

As your host and adventure curator, I offer you a blend of expertise, warmth, and down-to-earth care. I'm passionate about creating meaningful travel experiences that help people slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with themselves.

I’m a lifelong yogi, diver, and fitness instructor who loves bringing strength, mobility, curiosity, and a little playfulness to the mat. I’ve been practicing yoga for 35 years and teaching fitness for more than 20, with training in California, Ohio, Hawaii, Thailand, and Bali. As a diver myself, certified in Monterey, CA, and snorkeler, I’ve explored the underwater world from California and Florida to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Greece, Bali, and Australia—so I know firsthand how good it feels to move, breathe, and reset after time in the water.

My teaching draws from Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative yoga, with elements of Pilates and barre when they can help build core stability, hip mobility, and back strength. I’m intentional about every class, from the sequencing and the variations I offer to the music that accompanies our practice. As a percussionist and lifelong music lover, I take particular pride in creating playlists that become part of the experience rather than simply background noise.

I’m especially passionate about offering variations that support different bodies, fitness levels, and injuries. My goal is to help you challenge yourself when it feels right, recover when you need it, and discover what your practice can do for you—both in and out of the water. My motto is simple: success is only as you define it. I’m excited to combine three of my favorite things—yoga, travel, and the ocean—for our adventures. Come ready to move, breathe, explore, laugh, and find a little more peace, love, and joy along the way.

And if we’re not on the mat or in the water, ask me about dogs, percussion, great podcasts, IndyCar, or the latest dystopian novel I’m reading!

Inner peace is not a side hustle. My rollercoaster journey and recovery from burnout in Silicon Valley inspired me to help others learn about yoga as an antidote to the stress in our work and daily lives. Yoga is for every body. I teach Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa flow, Yin Yoga, and Restorative yoga.

I teach nourishing, breath-led classes that feel like a deep exhale. During our retreats, expect movement and flow, deep stretching, and grounding sequences designed for scuba divers. We'll release tension, boost energy, and prepare the body and mind for top performance in the water. The emphasis is always on right-sized effort. Strong when you need it, gentle when it serves, with the breath setting the pace.

I’m a RYT-200 yoga instructor and the founder of Zennest of the Zen, a yoga and wellness brand built on a simple truth: your inner peace is not a side hustle.

Alongside teaching, I work as a marketing and communications executive—I understand busy minds and high-functioning stress. My work helps people come home to themselves through practice, presence, and mentoring support that’s practical and sustainable.

Before and after our dive days, I’ll guide you through sequences that help you unwind, reconnect, and settle into a deeper sense of ease, both on the mat and underwater.
